Bio Green's Lawn Program FAQs

lawn problems, before and after

Q: How long has Bio Green been in business and are they insured?

A: BioGreen Inc., founded in 1987 is a locally owned company servicing Northern Virginia. Bio Green cares for over 3000 annual customers. Bio Green is insured up to 2 million dollars.

Q: Is your program specific to the needs of my lawn?

A: When Bio Green gives an estimate we meet with the homeowners. In this way we can identify the lawns needs as well as the homeowners (cost, expectations, etc.). We avoid "one size fits all" applications where chemicals are pre-mixed and every lawn gets the same treatment. Each application is a separate trip over the lawn with Bio Green programs. In this way we can tailor fit our services for each lawn. We recommend soil testing to all new customers to identify unseen problems.

A: Bio Green guarantees its results in two ways. First, we offer unlimited service calls to each annual customer. If problems arise between scheduled services we will come back out to solve it free of charge. Bio Green's programs also include "Lawn Insurance". If any problem covered under your program does damage to the lawn (ex. grubs or disease), we will repair it free of charge.

Q: Are your servicemen trained?

A: Our service technicians are the best trained in the business, they have to be. Most of our competitors have a single premixed application they make on each lawn, each season. Bio Green's programs require many separate applications depending on the weather, condition of lawn, amount of shade, level of service, etc. These variables change from lawn to lawn. Bio Green customers have a set technician assigned to their lawn. Each technician is certified by the state.

A: Almost anything can be harmful in large amounts. Bio Green employs Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in all of our programs. This limits the amount of chemicals applied to our lawns (no "Blanket" applications). According to the Prince William Agricultural Extension Service, Bio Green is the only lawn care company to follow all of the Virginia Tech Water Quality Program guidelines. We recommend watering the lawn well after each service since even fertilizer can irritate the skin with extended contact.

A: Bio Green tries to include everything the lawn needs by designing programs to fit the needs of lawn and homeowner. Some needs can only be identified by testing the soil and might require additional service (ex. Lime).

A: In most cases cost of annual lawn care goes down in the second or third year as the lawn improves.

A: A well rooted, properly maintained lawn requires less water. Of course any lawn will do better if watered correctly (whether its being treated or not). All of Bios Green's programs stress root growth. One way we do this is with balanced, slow release feedings. This eliminates "surge growth" seen with high rates of fast release nitrogen which require more frequent mowing. However, an important part of maintaining a nice, thick lawn is timely mowing.

A: Bio Green's method of servicing lawns and need for high quality, knowledgeable technicians results in much higher labor cost than most of our competitors. So rarely are we cheaper than our competition for similar service programs. Our prices are very competitive though (see estimate comparison chart). In fact we often are less expensive for our lawn renovations and seeding because we do so many.

A: In addition to the neighbors we service, Bio Green:
