Bio Green's Lawn Sprinkler FAQs

A: Bio Green offers the best warranty in the country. Parts and the labor to replace them are covered forever, as long as BioGreen only services the system.

A: Bio Green does not dig open trenches to install a system. We use a vibratory plow, which "pulls" the pipe (similar to cable TV) to try and minimize damage to the lawn. If the soil is extremely hard or rocky, there will be some damage. Our lawn crews (rated top 5 by Washingtonian Magazine) will repair any damage from installation, if necessary.

A: We feel our people provide Bio Green with the biggest advantage over our competition. Our training regimen consists of manufacturer certification, manufacturer seminars, and years of hands-on experience. We are able to keep quality employees by offering higher pay, better benefits, and year-round employment. This adds up to Bio Green having the best installation crews in the business.

A: Every phase of a Bio Green sprinkler installation is done "in house". We do not subcontract anything.

A: Bio Green's plumbing actually exceeds all local jurisdictional codes. In addition to proper backflow prevention, shut-off valves (inside and out) are installed, and all copper piping is used and exit-sealed with hydraulic cement.

A: Yes, Bio Green will take care of any plumbing permits. Permits are required whenever cutting into the potable water supply.

A: All Bio Green sprinkler systems are installed with valves manifold together in a valve box buried in an inconspicuous place (along foundation or shrub bed). This keeps service and maintenance costs down. This is an important point because many contractors bury irrigation valves out in the lawn to lower costs. This can be unsightly, cause more damage to the lawn, and make servicing the system more difficult.

A: All of the components of the system are commercial grade by the best manufacturer of irrigation parts in the country; Hunter. Quality parts are just the first step to a quality installation.  The real key to a trouble free sprinkler system is in the hands of the installation crew.

A:"Drinking water"-quality, SDR 200 PVC pipe is used throughout Bio Green systems. In addition, a 1' to 5' section of flexible pipe (swing joint) joins each head to the PVC pipe to simplify moving heads in the future.

A: Bio Green always meets with potential customers to give an estimate. This is the only way to design a system specific to both the property and the home owner. Installation costs can vary greatly, depending on many different variables. Bio Green will take into account shrub beds, slopes, etc., as well as the home owner's budget to design a sprinkler system that will satisfy all of your needs.

A: Adding to or modifying a Bio Green system is generally not a problem. Having valves manifold together, swing joints on each head, etc., are all done with this in mind. It is most important to plan with the initial installation so that expansion or modification is not a big expense.
