Steve Schrader - President
Steve Schrader has held leadership roles in locally owned and operated customer-service oriented businesses for close to thirty years. In 1985, he started a small restaurant- The Cork Street Tavern - in Winchester, Virginia with partner Steve Sabanosh. The restaurant became very well known for the BBQ rib recipe and excellent customer service. In 1987, he assisted his brother David in starting Bio Green, Inc. The combination of David's education and expertise in agronomy and turf science, sales and lawn care applications with Steve’s experience in developing, marketing and operating a successful business and his years of customer service experience, has resulted in a solid, profitable business that has grown consistently over the past decades.
While Bio Green was flourishing and growing, the restaurant was also turning an excellent trade. Sometime after, brother Scott Schrader moved back east and joined as a full partner and took over the sprinkler department. In late 1993 the three brothers, and longtime restaurant partner, Steve Sabanosh decided to sell the restaurant and devote all their energies to Bio Green.
Bio Green enjoys a thriving business, with over 30 service vehicles and close to 6,000 active clients across five counties in Northern Virginia. In addition to lawn care & sprinkler installation, Bio Green has expanded their outdoor living services to include sprinkler service, landscape lighting, mosquito control and solutions that solve common drainage issues plaguing homeowners in the area.
Steve is very proud of all that he and his business partners have accomplished. Bio Green commands respect from its suppliers and partners as a leader in enhancing outdoor living spaces for today's homeowner. Bio Green takes the time to do the right and correct thing to keep lawns and living spaces and the environment as a whole in balance through training, research, and applying our environmentally sensitive philosophy to each of our service areas.
Steve's primary focus is customer awareness and education about everything Bio Green does. Steve is an avid fisherman, a gun owner, and a father of three daughters and a son. He is also the grandfather of Eva, Macklin and Brynlee, with another grandchild on the way. Steve supports the Potomac Conservancy, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, The Izaak Walton League, Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and The National Rifle Association.
